Q: Can I visit a Naturopath if I am taking medications prescribed from my doctor?
A: Yes you can. It is a fact of life that many people take medications for health conditions. At The Natural Health Clinic we provide Naturopathic care that can work alongside pharmaceutical treatments where necessary and are confident in the safe and responsible co-prescribing of nutrients and herbal medicines alongside your medications. If herbal medications are not suitable then the focus will be on nutrients and dietary changes. Q: Why see a Naturopath? A: We treat the whole person, which means we not only look at reducing the symptoms you are experiencing (fatigue, pain, etc) but also what may be driving your illness in the first place. Q: What can I expect when I come to see you? A: After a comprehensive case take the information you provide is put together like a jigsaw, with each part giving some clue and direction as to what is going on with you. From there an individualised treatment plan is prepared for you and will include any of the following:
Q: Will I be given unrealistic and restrictive goals? A: No, each plan is formulated to be achievable and to work within the individual client’s level of comfort. We want you to meet your goals, not set you up to fail. Some things may challenge you but if anything doesn’t fit into what you think you can manage there is always room for adjustment. Q: What conditions can a Naturopath help with? A: Most if not all health conditions can be treated by a Naturopath. Conditions that respond particularly well include (but are not limited to) hormonal imbalances, anxiety or depression disorders, skin conditions, digestive system disorders, immune disturbances, children’s health, and fatigue. Q: What qualifications do you have? A: I have a BHSc (comp med), Dip Nat, Dip Herb Med, which I completed in 3 years.
